I got the chance to listen to Susan Lerner of CA Clean Money on The Al Franken Show today. She brought up what I think is one of the more compelling arguements in favor of publicaly financed elections. The cost of financing elections is less than the cost of deals and tax breaks given to contributors under the current system. It would probably save money in the big picture.
